A June To Remember: IndiEarth At The Park

As the day draws closer, we can no longer contain our excitement. Without further ado, we officially announce the next edition of IndiEarth At The Park happening on Saturday June 7th, and featuring two artists from different spaces of the musical spectrum: Filter Coffee and Bassister.

Home-brewed talent Filter Coffee consists of flautist Shriram Sampath and percussionist Swarupa Ananth. The two musicians and producers bring various Indian classical influences and folk instruments together to create what they call an ‘Ethnotronic collaborative’, setting these home grown sounds to electronic grooves. The duo also have a few international tour dates in the UK lined up for July. This time around, however, they will be getting the night going in Chennai at The Lobby Stage at 8:30 pm.

Moving the party to The Leather Bar will be the live wire Pune-based act Bassister aka bass player/DJ Vandana Bhalla. With a bass heavy sound that she describes as having tribal undertones, Bassister’s musical mission is to make her dance floor move. Vandana has been involved with various genres of music – ranging from jazz to funk to blues, but has now chosen the space of electronica and the medium of DJing to share her musical message.

With its purpose being to support homegrown talent and to bring a diverse variety of offbeat artists to Chennai, IndiEarth At The Park continues to bring in artists from different corners of the country and the globe, aiming to enrich the musical experience for Chennai gig goers. So come out and support your local scene – Saturday, June 7th at The Park Chennai.
