IndiEarth At The Park: Flipping It Up

Broken beats and chest rattling bass, atmospheric textures and serene melodies – these sound like they belong on opposing ends of the sound spectrum, but actually coexist in one artist’s sound. Electronica artist Sickflip aka Sarvesh Shrivastava likes to flip things up every once in a while during his live shows, and after opening for Israeli Gorestep master Borgore this past weekend in Bombay he will now play the upcoming edition of IndiEarth At The Park this Saturday June 6th at The Park Chennai. Prepare for an onslaught of bass and deep experimental vibes at Leather Bar from 10:30 pm onwards.

Also playing for this evening of independent sounds and new music is Alexis – a six piece act from Bangalore named after its front woman Alexis D’Souza. The band finds its sound in the spaces between Synthpop, Dreampop and R & B, and early 2012 is when Alexis first began creating original material. They will play at Aqua on the terrace of The Park Chennai at 9pm. By introducing new artists and unconventional sounds to Chennai’s live music landscape, the gig series looks to develop Chennai’s alternative music culture and offer diversity to the city’s audiences.
