Music Journalism: Mastering The Art
XChange 2015’s workshop program presents a 3-day workshop on Music Journalism by London-based world music critic Simon Broughton, Songlines UK, The London Evening Standard.
Designed to offer Indian journalists fresh perspectives and practical skills in music journalism, the workshop involves a series of eye opening seminars and practical training, and looks at some of the basic ingredients – news pieces, interviews and reviews. Participants will attend performances at XChange and submit their stories and interviews. These submissions will be reviewed by Simon Broughton, who will offer critical insights in the workshop sessions, with vital feedback on how to avoid pitfalls and make the writing interesting, entertaining and informed. At the end of the 3-day workshop, the best piece will be published in Songlines Magazines, UK.
Participants will have the opportunity to engage in thought-provoking interactions with leading members of the international music and media delegation at XChange 2015. Whether writing for print, for PR, for a blog or simply for fun, the workshop will benefit anyone looking to learn from a top music critic in a stimulating environment.
