New Gig On The Block: Live! At Tango

They rove recklessly through lands occupied by the devils of swing and Gypsy cabaret, pack up their bags at the drop of a high hat and Peter Cat are on the road loaded into a Duster hurtling at lightening fast speeds across the country to adventures still unfolding – and gigs all across the land.

And Chennai is next on their sonic radar.

Having just released their second album Climax, Delhi based Peter Cat Recording Co. in characteristically cinematic fashion have set out on an iconic road trip across the country – an 11 city tour from Jaipur to Bengaluru to Mumbai to Kozhikode and beyond. And this Saturday July 4^th, they hit Chennai to launch the album in the city – commemorating the launch of a brand new IndiEarth Gig Property at a brand new venue, Tango at The Legends Hotel in Chennai. The gig nights – Live! At Tango – will continue upon IndiEarth’s mission to showcase a unique cocktail of India’s independent artists, adding splashes of diversity to Chennai’s live music landscape and providing these artists with more platforms for expression in the country. “We created Tango – an Argentinian themed Resto Bar – paying special attention to design and sound in order to provide Chennai with an interesting new space” says Kenny Ganapathy, Chairman of The Legends Hotel, “I am immensely elated to partner with IndiEarth who will be programming independent music nights in the space, adding their signature stamp of quality music programming”.

Also headlining the evening is Chennai’s own Sapta – a live electronic collaborative conceived by producer Marti Bharath and featuring Tapass Naresh on drums and Shravan Shridhar on the violin. The act will be launching their sixth studio record ICU (Intimate Comfort Unit) with the gig at Tango kickstarting their nation wide album launch tour across Hyderabad, Delhi, Bangalore and Pune. New sounds in new spaces in the city – a night not to be missed!
