Call for Submissions – Music for a Surf Movie

For the past few years, EarthSync has been involved with community development projects through various platforms. One of their current projects is based on the story of a rather interesting surf culture currently taking shape in Kovalam – a local fishing community in Tamil Nadu.

EarthSync has been filming and recording a documentary since 2008 following Murthy Meghavan – a fisherman who started the surf movement in Kovalam Village. The film documents the rise of this particularly unique surf culture in the village and Murthy’s inner journey as it unfolds around him.

We invite artists from around the country to be a part of this story, and submit their music for the chance to be featured on the Covelong Point film’s official sound track.

“The film is about a journey of a man who believes in life and tries to make the most out of it in his own space”, says Yotam Agam, “it’s about the old and the new India, about inspirations and collaborations. The film is also about love and respect for the ocean, and about a quaint little fishing village in South India. The music should carry the signature of all of this in the lyrics and the production. It should have contemporary yet traditional elements, and every once in a while, one should take over the other”.
