Karthick Iyer Live is the brainchild of fusion violinist Karthick Iyer, a classically trained Carnatic violinist, who chooses to dabble in a variety of different genres. The sound of the band blends Carnatic elements, with a more contemporary feel. This is their rendition of Saaveri – a composition by Periyasami Thooran, a haunting track that incorporates elements of the Carnatic raga Saaveri – the raga of pity.
